EFCU offers a variety of savings accounts to help you meet your savings goals.
A share or savings account is the first account you open when you become a member of EFCU. It not only meets your basic savings needs, but the minimum $5 deposit also represents your ownership or “share” of the credit union. Interest (or dividends as it’s referred to in credit unions) is paid quarterly on average daily balances of $5 or more. Once a member, you’ll remain a member and enjoy EFCU benefits as long as a minimum $5 balance remains on deposit in your account.
Separate special-purpose savings accounts are also available to save for any purpose you designate. Use one to save for holiday spending, vacations or a new vehicle. These accounts have no minimum balance requirements and you can deposit as much and as often as you like.
The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government, insures all deposits to at least $100,000 per member.
