According to a national TD Ameritrade survey, 75% of Americans will make one financial-related New Year’s Resolution in 2010. But with most New Year’s resolutions, setting them and keeping them are two different issues.

A great way to start the New Year is taking stock of where you are right now. Access your free credit report at www.annualcreditreport.com or call 877-322-8228. You can look for errors and fraudulent charges as well as learn how your credit score impacts interest rates, car loans, job searches and more.

2. Contact a representative from Consumer Credit Counseling Services

E Federal offers exclusively to members FREE credit education and counseling through a partnership with Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS). From simple questions like “how do I raise my credit score” to complicated issues of debt elimination, future planning, and crisis assistance, the CCCS professionals can help you get back on track in the New Year. Simply call 1-888-343-2233 and ask for a Baton Rouge representative.  

3. Set-up and regularly review your online Express Branch account
